An Overview of the Onboarding Journey
Welcome to Zip, we’re glad you’re here! Client Onboarding is the process to get you up and running on your Zip console, with all tools and providers fully integrated, so you can start enrolling all users, and getting your fleet 100% compliant. Getting onboarding right is the corner-stone of a successful and smooth experience enrolling your devices, and getting the most of our Zip from day! You will have a dedicated customer success team who will be on hand to support you throughout this journey.
Onboarding with Zip comprises of three phases:
- Setting Up the Zip Console [owned by Zip, will require client input for some steps]
- This is the stage where all tools are provisioned and integrated with the Zip Console. The exact steps here will be tailored to meet the specific requirements of your organization, and align with any existing tools you already have in place, or migrations that are required.
- Configuring the Zip Console [owned by client, full-support available from Zip]
- In our eyes, this is where the fun begins! In this stage, we will work together to configure the Zip platform by enabling controls and compliance frameworks to get you ready to start enrolling devices.
- Device Enrollment [owned by client, full-support available from Zip]
- Because device enrollment is so important for an effective security strategy, we don’t consider onboarding to be ‘complete’ until we get to up to (or as close to) 100% device enrollment. As you enroll devices through the Zip Console, we’ll be on hand to help with any questions you may have along the way.

Onboarding Checklist

Pre-Onboarding Requirements
To prepare for onboarding, there are several steps required so we are ready to dive in. Once we have a signed contract in place, you will be introduced to your Customer Success POC who will kick off on-boarding activities, starting with alignment on details and timelines for your launch.
Our Sales and Customer Success team work closely together, so any requirements (tight timelines for instance!) discussed during Sales will have been communicated.

Phase 1: Setting Up the Zip Console [owned by Zip, will require client input for some steps]
Once we have a clear understanding of your implementation scope, the Zip team will get right to work provisioning, and integrating your security tools and the Zip console. This phase is largely led by the Zip team, but will require some actions to be completed by the client (e.g. connecting your IdP, setting up SSO).
This phase is fully managed by Zip, and any asks or actions will be communicated via email.

Phase 2: Configuring the Zip Console [owned by client, full-support available from Zip]
Once we have completed the provisioning and integration of all tools, we are ready to get the Zip Console fully configured and ready for device enrollment. This mainly involves configuring security controls and compliance frameworks so devices enrolling are immediately compliant and protected.
In this stage, we are happy to offer as much or as little support as you’d like! The Zip console is user-friendly and we have recommended default configurations we can share, so some clients are happy to do this async. We’re also equally happy to get together on a call and go through all these steps together!

Phase 3: Device Enrollment [owned by client, full-support available from Zip]
By the time we reach this phase we are ready to enroll devices! We start by getting on a call and testing enrollment of devices. This ensures there are no issues, and also is a walk-through for the person who will be managing this, that they are fully comfortable with enrolling company devices.
We’ll also ensure you’re comfortable with tracking device enrollment, getting your fleet compliant across all controls.
During this enrollment phase, we’ll be on hand to help with any issues or questions that arise!
